Smyrna Police Department Responds to Active Shooter at Legacy Wine and Spirits - Best Murfreesboro Lawyer

On July 15, 2025, the Smyrna Police Department responded to reports of an active shooter at Legacy Wine and Spirits, located on Lee Victory Parkway. The suspect opened fire on multiple employees inside the business.

Thanks to the rapid and coordinated response by Smyrna Police officers, along with support from the Murfreesboro Police Department, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and La Vergne Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect, identified as Renaudd Broaden currently faces multiple charges, including:

  • Aggravated Robbery
  • Aggravated Assault (3 counts)
  • Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Felony Theft of a Firearm

Additional charges are pending, including:

  • Felony Vandalism
  • Attempted Arson
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment
  • And several others

No officers or civilians were injured during the incident. The investigation remains active and
ongoing.
